Commander Ronnie van Zant

Ronnie van Zant is a grasping and greedy little man, with a penchant for posturing and affectation. Although he fancies himself as an explorer, cut from the same cloth as intrepid adventurers from a bygone age, bringing the light of the Inner Sphere into to the dark corners of the Periphery. There is nothing he loves nothing more than the sound of his own voice and he seems unable to stop himself when in full flow. A particular pleasure of his is doing things that he thinks will result in him looking superior to his peers or getting one over others. The fact that he is a Mechwarrior only seems to have compounded his egomania and he clearly considers himself to be a cut above the mass of humanity. Unfortunately his rampant ego is not matched by his character, abilities or reputation. In addition he seems to have limited, if any, understanding of the mentality or culture of the native Astrokaszi, a dangerous combination indeed.

Allen Collins

  

Mechwarrior Allen Collins

Allen Collins is a bully by nature but lacks the wit to take control and make any meaningful decisions for himself. So he has tagged along with Ronnie for what have been a good few years. He is impulsive and explosive in his temperament but also quick to cool down and realise when he might have made an error of judgement, of course he would never admit it though. With his impressive physical presence and threatening attitude he is hard to ignore, that coupled with the simple enjoyment he gets from lording over anyone he perceives to be in a weaker position makes him an unpleasant person to be around. Perhaps the only thing that stops him from trying to do the same with Ronnie is that he needs his support or the rest of the unit would probably have turned on him, particularly as his 'mech is the smallest and he is a poor pilot.

 


Artemis Pyle

 

Mechwarrior Artimus Pyle

Artimus Pyle, on the face of it appears to be the most ‘normal’ and personable of the group, but that hides the truth, which is that he is covering up a deep darkness inside himself. Only on very rare occasions does his mask slip, so good is he at presenting his public persona and he takes great care to be as pleasant as possible. However in Astrokaszy he has found a place were he could indulge his perversions without too much difficulty, life being cheap, people desperate and slaves plentiful. He has been with Ronnie and the Vandals for just over a year and none of them seem to care about who or what he is, or have been taken by his nice guy act.



Cia Berg

 

Mechwarrior Cia Berg

Cia Berg is a beast of a woman, it’s clear from her awkwardness in social situations that she has suffers from low self-esteem. In the Clans she probably would have been selected for Elemental training and regarded as magnificent specimen, unfortunately in the Inner Sphere she was always made to feel like a freak. This has embittered her, but she is not cruel or ruthless like the other members of the gang. She has only been with them for a few of months, and has been to unsure of herself to break away..
